HOLLAND, Joseph W: from MA. During the War, he served with the Loyal New Englanders. He received a townlot at Carleton in 1785. In 1794, one of this name married Esther Thorn at Gagetown, Queens Co. Their children included: James, Henry, Sophia m Samuel Knight, and Richard
Richard Holland married Hannah Dean(e) as noted in land record dated June 4, 1777 (FHL#46615), when Ebenezer Dean tried to put richard in jail for not paying the apprisal of land of the late Josiah Dean. This record mentions Richard and Hannah, his wife. In addition, registered on October 29, 1777 (FHL#46615), Richard and Hannah sold all title and interest into the estate of Josiah Dean to Joseph Brightman. Richard and Hannah arrive in New Brunswick sometime in 1783. Two sources differ on which ship they came on, but both agree that Richard came with 2 sons over 10 and one son under 10 and 3 servants. One source states that his sons were, Joseph, Richard Holland, Jr., and Charles plus negroes, William, Tom and Hannah (WO 60/32 Pt 1). However, accoring to the 'Book of Negroes', it was Hannah 16, stout wench, (Lt. Richard Holland), Sally her child 8 mo; Anthony Ferguson 21; William Johnson 21; all sailed on Ɖ Friends'.
We also know that Hannah and Richard had a daughter, Clarissa Holland.
In 1791, Gabriel DeVeber asked that Eber Stone be given a tract of land that belonged to Richard Holland and states, 'Richard Holland has long since abandoned this Country much in disgust with the climate, and in the opioned of the memorialist and many of his neighbors, there is not the least probabilty of his ever returning'.
The next land records shows Rhichard Holland back in New England. Holland bought from Ebenezer Lawrence (9/12/1793)....Feb. 13, 1797 Holland sold to Jospeh Gifford (FHL#466923) when Richard was living in Rochester...and the wonderful land record recorded in New Brunswick of: Richard Holland, resident of New Bedford, May 28, 1797 to Joseph W. Holland of Waterborough, New Brunswick. October 3, 1812 (FHL#46618) Richard Holland residing in Little Compton, County of Rewport in the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantation, Gentleman, to Clarissa Dean,' in consideration of the love and affection I owe to my daughter, Clarissa Dean....a certain piece of alnd lying and being in Fairhaven'.
Clarissa Holland married Asa Dean Jr. in 1809 in Civil, Minot, Androscoggin, Maine. (FHL#11550). They have a daughter, Betsy Dean on March 23, 1814 in Paris, Oxford, Maine. Clarissa died in 1821.
On October 6, 1812, Asa Dean Jr. of Paris, Oxford Co., Massachusetts, yoeman, and his wife Clarissa, sold the property recorded as bearing the date 1793 of Ebenezer Lawrence to Richard Holland.
Memorial of Richard Holland; Evidence on the Claim of Richard Holland, late of Massachusetts Bay, St. John 16th January 1787:
"Saith he came to this Province in July, 1783, continued at Carleton served his claim by Mr. Hardy. He is a native of America, lived at Freetown, in breaking out of Troubles always declared in favour of Government."

To be buried in the most private manner …….as near the grave of my dear late friend, George Ash, Esq. As William Hamilton Ash, Esq. The will is dated 3 January, 1801. His appearance states he was a Captain on half pay in the Prince of Wales.
February 4, 1771, John and Elizabeth Stinson of Dunbarton deeded this farm to Stephen Holland, the notorious Tory of Londonderry, as the deed reads, "the farm whereon I now dwell". Holland never lived in this town and the deed was probably in return for a mortgage.
Willia Jr. graduated from the U of GA School of Veterinary. He and his wife, Barbara, were involved in a car accident. She died and he was seriously injured. When he recovered he opened a veterinary hospital in Savannah, GA and later another one. He remarried. He left Savannah for several years. His marriage to Jane Ridgeway ended in divorce. He returned to GA and married Carol Smith. He was living at Midway, GA in 1984.spouse: Smith, Carol (*1934 - )
Margaret became a citizen on December 23, 1929 Petition #15039, Doc #3137394 in Salem, Mass. She was 34 years old and the document lists her as having blue eyes, dark brown hair, and 5 foot 3 inches and 145 pounds. Scottish nationality - British. Clerk of the superior court was Frost with George Hart as a witness. She registered to vote in Peabody, Mass on Oct. 18, 1961. Margaret was very kind and understanding. She was also very smart. She was active in the Rebecca Lodge, which was a branch of the Odd Fellows. Before WW11 she worked as a salesperson for Burrows and Sandborn Department Store. When the war started she went to work for General Electric as an office worker. She could sew real well.
